How much a senior Laravel developer costs per day, and why €450

The price, with no ranges

€450 a day, no VAT charged (Italian flat-rate scheme), for a senior Laravel developer working in your repository, with your tools and your release rules. Three conditions, the same for everyone:

• At least one day a week, on a fixed calendar. An occasional day costs you more than it costs me: every time we start again from reading the code.
• One invoice at the end of the month for the days worked, not a quote for every task.
• Payment by card or SEPA direct debit through Stripe: the invoice comes with a payment link, the receipt is automatic, no bank transfers to chase.

No minimum number of months: the engagement stops with one week's notice, and the code is yours from day one. Application security and penetration testing are €700 to €900 a day with the report included; applied AI and industrial systems €850 to €1,100. The full price list is on /pricing.

Market benchmarks, for comparison

The price is below the market average, and that is deliberate. Public references for 2025-2026:

• UK contractors: £385 to £566 a day depending on discipline (9am, 2026).
• Germany: senior Laravel developers at $61 to $94 an hour (Acquaint, 2026).
• Italy: Assintel Report 2025, average of €508 a day for ICT freelancers on public and private tenders.

Why €450: one fixed day a week for months is worth more than one week now and then. Less time getting back into the project, no quotes to write, a calendar that fills with a few companies. The lower price buys continuity, not a discount on quality: tests, static analysis and pull requests are the same as on a €700 engagement.

What a day includes

• Work in your repository: branch, pull request with a description, passing tests, PHPStan green at the level you use (or level 5 if you do not use it yet).
• The first day ends with a written list: what I read, where time is lost, what I propose for the week.
• The first week aims at a real feature in a pull request, or at the report on the slow spots if speed is the problem (how it is measured).
• Remote across Europe, in the CET time zone; on site in north-east Italy by agreement, no travel hours invoiced.
• Not included: hosting, licences, external services, and other people's work (design, content).

How payment works

On the first working day of the month you receive the invoice for the previous month's days, with the Stripe payment link. You pay by company card or SEPA direct debit; the receipt arrives automatically. Days are counted from the shared calendar: a day cancelled on your side with less than 48 hours' notice counts; a day cancelled on my side is made up.

When it is not the right fit

• If you need five days a week for six months: hire, and I will say so on the call.
• If the job is under three days: a fixed-price task with a written quote works better.
• If you need a whole team (backend, frontend, design): an agency. The honest comparison is on agency or senior freelancer.
