Davide Cavallini: the person who writes the code running on your shop floor and in your team's repository

Fourteen years of Laravel systems, six as tech lead, MES and AI in production in six sectors. Based in Noale (Venice, Italy), on site across Veneto, remote across Italy and Europe.

What do I do, in one line?

I build software that follows how a company works instead of forcing it to adapt: MES and traceability next to the management system you already have, quality control from photos, automatic document reading, and iTER7, the ready-made system for installation companies. For software houses I join the team as a senior Laravel developer, with NIS2 and penetration testing on the code side.

One rule applies to everything: AI proposes, a person confirms, and it stays on record who did. AI does not sign. You do.

Where do I come from?

I have written software for companies since 2012: fourteen years of PHP and Laravel in five software houses (fintech, privacy, travel, public administration), the last six as tech lead. Since 2022 I work independently as Cavallini Service, based in Noale, near Venice.

Outside client projects: JavaScream, an open-source project, and articles on application security published on Red Hot Cyber.

What is in production today?

  • MES and batch traceability with labels and QR codes in six sectors, from Veneto to Abruzzo: waste treatment, wood, battery packs (7,500 a year), metalworking, industrial mechanics, solar energy.
  • A visual quality-control study on 23,194 real weld photos, with models trained only on good parts.
  • An AI that proposes photovoltaic system sizing.
  • A European proposal on adaptive work instructions scored 12.3 out of 15.
  • iTER7 in installation companies: voice-dictated work reports, customer signature on the phone, per-van stock, e-invoicing.

Clients stay anonymous for confidentiality; a name appears only with written consent. The cases tell sector, province, problem and numbers.

How do I work?

  • Measure first, then build: 30 free minutes on your data, a document with the numbers, then a clickable mockup before you invest.
  • Two distinct routes: iTER7 is a ready-made product for installation companies, with a fee per company and setup in about two weeks; MES, AI and custom systems start from 62 ready modules adapted in about two weeks, then customisations in stages, with a working demo every two weeks.
  • Your code in custom work, with automated tests, static analysis and documentation: no per-user fee, no per-document fee.
  • Inside your system: MES, document reading and AI assistants are built next to what you use, which stays in charge of the flow, and run on your server.

Where can you find me?

On LinkedIn, by phone at the number in the header, or in a 30-minute call. The office is in Noale (Venice): on-site visits across Veneto, remote across Italy and Europe. Prices are public.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work alone or with a team?

I write the code myself, with collaborators on larger projects. For the client little changes: you always talk to the person who wrote the code, not to an intermediary.

How much Laravel experience do you have?

Fourteen years of PHP and Laravel since 2012, in five software houses, the last six as tech lead. Today I use it for management systems, MES and AI integrations in production.

Do you only build industrial software?

Two branches: industry and applied AI (MES, traceability, visual inspection, document reading) and iTER7, the ready-made system for installation companies. For software houses I work as a senior Laravel developer per project, with NIS2 and penetration testing.

Can I see your projects?

Yes, on the cases page: sector, province, problem, what was built and what changed, with numbers. Client names appear only with written consent.

How do we start?

With 30 free minutes looking at your data. You get a document with today's numbers, yours even if you stop there; then, if it makes sense, a clickable mockup before investing.
